Summer Learning

Summer Learning

As you all know, summer learning is an important part of your students' educational journey and enables them to hit the ground running when they return to school each fall. We did ask that all returning students complete 10 iReady lessons for ELA and 10 lessons for Math before the school year begins, as well as the required reading and math assignments for middle school. With students having 10 weeks of summer, this is an achievable tasks, however, due to iReady issues this week, I am cutting the requirement back to 8 ELA lessons and 8 Math lessons. Students who did the 10 lessons in each subject will receive additional credit for their efforts. Middle school students are still required to complete the book project and math packet applicable to them. If you have any questions, please reach out to our Curriculum Specialist, Ms. Gerrianne Disney at Disney.Gerrianne@Franklin-Academy.org.

RAPTOR Portal

RAPTOR Portal

Families who did not complete the service hour requirement of 8 hours last year have been notified and their child(ren) have been placed probationary status that will limit the students' extra curricular opportunities. These families must complete the first 4 hours of this year's requirement on or before December 21st. When this requirement is met, the student probation will be lifted.

In an effort to offer Parents/Guardians the greatest opportunity to fulfill their service hour obligations, Franklin Academy is implementing a new system that will automate and simplify the process. This system will interact with our Raptor Security System and enables parents to use one portal for all service hour information. This one portal will allow parents to view and sign-up for service hour opportunities and view the number of service hours completed. Parents will be able to view their completed service hours as soon as they are posted to Raptor.

To Access the Volunteer Portal you are required to complete a one-time "Volunteer Application". Once the application is approved, you will receive an email with instructions on the next steps, including a link to setup your portal password. All information will remain confidential. If you did not complete this process at Business Day, please take a few moments and do this from home. This will alleviate the time necessary for you to check in for your first volunteer opportunity.

Tardy Sign-In and Early Release Procedure

Tardy Sign-In and Early Release Procedure

Beginning the week of August 20th tardy students will have to be signed in through the Raptor system. Early release students will also need to be signed out through Raptor. Please be mindful of the following non-negotiable procedures regarding tardies and early dismissal.

  • Elementary parents pulling on to our campus after 7:45 AM will be directed to park and escort their tardy students in to school.
  • Middle school parents arriving after 8:45 AM will be directed to park and escort their students in to school.
  • Late parents will sign their student in through Raptor which will generate a pass allowing them to enter their classroom late. Students cannot enter the school late without a parent/guardian signing them in and the system generating them a pass. If a parent refuses to park and sign their student in tardy, the student will be held in the front office until the parent returns to sign them in.
  • Early dismissal ends at 2:00 PM each day. This policy is for the safety of our students and staff, as well as ensuring that our car line is operating effectively.
  • Five (5) tardies and/or early dismissals are equal to one absence.
